Default Free car - Rover 75 kv6 2.0l - NOW GONE!

CAR NOW GONE!

Evening Folks,

A week or so ago my car failed its mot. It failed on the os front tyre which I was expecting and also both rear upper suspension arms. The tyre is no big issue, but the suspension arms will be expensive and difficult for some one of my ability to replace. In addition the cam belts will need replacing soon and there are various other niggles with the car.

Therefore I'd like to donate the car to someone in the club to help them keep another 75/zt on the road.

The car is a 2002 black pearl, 2.0l kv6 manual with 154k miles on the clock. The good bits about the car are

- engine is really good despite high mileage.
- gearbox and clutch also very good, even though they are originals I think
- body work is actually pretty good (apart from items below) and is virtually rust free
- no warning lights on dash board
- all electric windows work

However the car has not had an easy life. I've owned it for 10 years and covered approx 100k miles. Therefore in addition to the rear upper suspension arms and imminent cambelt renewal, it has the following problems

- windscreen cracked, although has passed at least one MOT like this
- both wing mirrors don't have covers and the glass is cracked on one (altercation with a lorry on the M1!)
- on n/s there is a faint but long scratch on both doors and a sort of graze over the wheel arch (again M1 altercation). When polished this is surprisingly discrete
- the interior is quite scruffy and my kids have kicked off the fabric on the back of the front seats
- both front tyres need replacing, especially the os one which was considered dangerous by the test centre.

Relatively recent things I've done include

- back section of exhaust replacement, although at some point the car will need other parts replacing - about 2 years ago
- front brake pad replacement along with sensor - about 18 months ago
- sealed (another!) leak in boot - about a year ago
- front drop links, although cannot vouch for quality - About 6 months ago
- front suspension bushes and rear road spring - about 6 months ago, done by local garage

Happy to provide more info. I'd really like the car gone as soon as possible because there is very limited space where I live. The car starts and drives but of course has no mot.

All the best,
Matt
