It introduces warm air (less dense) now fed from behind the radiator/condenser!
Why make the intercooler work harder

So folks don't do it!!
Instead do the "invisible mod"
ie cut some V shapes on the underside of the intake at the front edge.
Thus reducing the air restriction without increasing the air temp.
Hi Phil, useful to know about the invisible mod. Do you have any photos so we can see exactly where to cut the V shapes? TIA.
