They should be used before any final wax coating because their job is to "fill" any tiny imperfections. These imperfections are what will reduce the super shiny look when you wax her.
No amount of wax will have any effect on how shiny she becomes IF those imperfections are there. It's to do with how the light is broken up when it hits the surface of the paint. Think of it like looking into a scratched mirror rather than a perfect one.
