It's only ever the single cable that pulls through the housing, or to be more accurate, pulls out of the keyhole slot.

This is entirely preventable by applying a few turns of insulating tape of your preferred colour to the ferrule of the single cable, thus increasing it's outside diameter, which in turn prevents it from being able to burst inwards and out of it's location slot.

Carry this modification out while you turn the cable shuttle over to face the other way, no drilling, easily achievable by even the most novice owner, and works a like a charm.

I operate the bonnet pull on the ZT much more often than the average owner, and the only time I've been stuck, was when the bonnet cable rotted through inside the latch on the slam panel itself........now overhauled, painted and greased to within an inch of it's life
