Hopefully you should get a fair few miles yet from the slip rings David.

My alternator had covered around 340k miles and although the brushes had worn away and there was wear on the slip rings they still had some way to go.

As for the rotor bearings they felt as good as new.

Will report back on how easy the slip ring change is when I get the time to do it.
