The autos are very sensitive to old fluid.
Also, If the fluid is too low, too high, or if someone has used the wrong fluid it is a problem.
I agree that the first task should be to have the fluid changed
by someone that is familiar with these auto gearboxes.
Odds are you will see a marked improvement.
