After the excitement of Easter Road , zed has been busy helping Ashley with the rear springs.

Whilst returning with zed from Biggar last week, we were stuck in a traffic jam when all of a sudden there was a slight crunch and ping from the rear offside. There was no discernible loss in ride performance but as we hadn't been run into by another car , Ashley immediately thought of the rear springs.

Once back in the garage he had a look and indeed the rear offside spring had fractured just after the first coil turn.

One can see why often an owner does not know it has happened till the MOT. I will go into more technical detail elsewhere on the forum but here are some shots of zed "helping"

Checking the new spring v the fractured one............

Checking the drain holes in the lower arm are OK before putting the new spring in .......

Thanks to "marinabrian" for his fantastic method of spring removal.
