Good morning all..... thank you for reading.

Thank you Steve for the crabbing update. With your special insight, it’s fascinating to read through it and see everything.....

I have just flown from Nairobi to London, changing planes in Addis Ababa on Ethiopian Airlines.

Ethiopian Airlines still flies to and from China via Addis.

On the flight from Nairobi to Addis a Boeing 737-800, a local got onto the plane, a large man carrying 3 laundry bags and he was having a problem placing them into the overhead bins as they were quite large and were slightly too big.

The man came beside me, with a terrible smell of rancid body odour. I was in an aisle seat.

As he was trying to stuff his bags into the full overhead bins, he was sweating profusely and sprayed his perspiration over myself and some of the other passengers who complained, shouting “Get off” !!

Fortunately for us he was upgraded from economy and moved into business class.

His sweat had dropped onto my hands and arms. Yuck and horrors!

When I complained to the cabin stewardess, I was taken to the toilet and told to wash....

and when I came out, the stewardess gave me large dollops of disinfectant cream to apply to my hands and arms.

I touched the toilet door handles, using paper towels to open and close the doors.

(Does anyone else do this?)

It was a heavy landing, the 737 came in “hot” and fast.....

In Addis Ababa when I went into the transit terminal, all the staff were wearing gloves and masks.

I had to go into the men’s toilet to have a slash and I found a group of men looking as though they had just arrived from China, queuing up for the urinal stalls and the lockup’s.

Some of them were wearing masks and some were not. I did not hang around and left. I thought I will have to hold it in.

The flight to London was on a new Airbus A350. Lovely with mood lighting and plenty of leg room, the plane was half empty, a flight of 8 hours. On arrival in terminal 2 at Heathrow, there was no screening, no temp checks and no one was wearing masks or gloves. That was 3 days ago.

I didn’t see anyone with any symptoms or hear any coughing.

2 days ago, I had the scan in London and the technician doing the scan, a vascular scientist gave me the results straight away. The Aortic Aneurysm has grown to 4.5 cm. In Nairobi they said it was 5.2 cm and at 5.5 cm it has to be repaired with a graft. So relief I don’t have to go under the knife. He said I am to be rescanned in 6 months time.

I am philosophical about it and don’t complain, as there are others worse off or they are not in a position to have a second chance. I have to wait to have the results confirmed by the surgeon when I see him on 5 March
