Hi.

What is your best tyre?

The best Wet grip? Dry grip? Lasts forever? Quiet?

I like my peace and comfort so I start with the lowest dB rating and then look for the best wet grip. So Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 at £65 in 195 size would suit me. The same tyre in 205 size is louder, less grippy and £101.You pay your money and take your choice .

Have a look at T-Cut's post #13 here

Double check the sizes

195/55 or 195/65 ?

And make sure the speed rating is OK. The early cars spec was "V" For the later ones, as yours is a diesel - it's "H" .

I had Michelin 205/65/15's on my first 75.

Lovely and comfy .

I believe they were a factory fitted alternative to the 195/65/15's

You'll probably find that the 195's are easier to find and quite a bit cheaper.

195's:

205's:

The 205's will be that little bit more comfortable but there's a fair amount of difference between tyres/brands so you may well lose that depending on what you go for. You'll also see that the 205 width isn't listed in the 2004 handbook.

Remember to have all 4 wheels tracked and have a full tank of fuel when they do it.

Hope that's useful.
