The row on the 800 forum went something like (heavily paraphrasing, it was a long time ago)

"Dexron is fine."

"No, Dexron will DESTROY your gearbox, that's what it did to mine."

"I've got dozens of 800s (this was true) and always use Dexron, have for years with no problem, it meets the spec. It's fine!"

"ARE YOU CALLING ME A LIAR???!!11! IT DESTROYED MY GEARBOX."

I can't remember if the shouty one was banned or left, but it was a lot quieter afterwards...
