Thanks for the replies.

Unfortunately the car came with no paperwork, but the book was stamped for an oil service and inspection in November 2019 at the same time and place that it was MOT'd. Since then its only covered 1261 miles. The dashboard is showing next oil service due in 10XXX miles.

Prior to that it was MOT'd at another garage for about 15 years on the trot, so probably serviced at the same time. Unfortunately the book's previous stamp was at 59980 miles at that garage.

I presume that a gearbox oil change and/or level check is part of a full service.

I'll get MGR John to check it out as I will be taking the car there soon for another item.
