It is always a balancing game of shutter speed and ISO. I see you used a shutter of 30 sec at ISO 400, so good noise control but the stars just start to elongate due to earth rotation. You can of course shorten shutter speed to reduce elongation but noise will increase.

This was a shot I took in Ireland last year.
At the time I was only using the raw editor function of photoshop. The photoshop side I didn't really know how to use!

I think if I'd have used ISO800 or dare I say it ISO1600 the shot may have been better in this case as I wouldn't have had to have a 30 second shutter speed. But, its all a learning curve!

The shot I took last week in Shropshire I used ISO128000 and it was incredibly noisy.
Next time I will take some pictures at differing ISO's and see how they come out.
