That reminds me of an incident many years ago when driving through the Ashridge Estate in Herts. It was dark and a deer jumped over the hedge bordering the road on our nearside, about 20 yds in front. It sort of skittered about in the road and then vaulted the opposite hedge and away. It happened so fast I had no time to react. Mrs SDA and our now adult kids still recall it.

Then again, around 1990 one of my reps wrote off his company Montego when he hit a deer on a road in Ashdown Forest, Sussex. He was one of the steadiest drivers I knew and was driving home from an evening class in Tunbridge Wells. He was very, very shaken up.
