Hi Mark.
If you have your oil up the max mark on the dip stick you are doing nowt wrong, but it can also let more oil reach the vis motors, thus making them fail in the long run.
Therefore i like to keep my oil just above the minimum mark or at least half way between the max and min.
On the max mark you may find this below, oil creeping through the air duct and into the throttle body, then on into the manifold then to the vis.

help the vis last longer is the moto i hope.
