Having ordered a #19 rod from Rimmer Bros, I have been looking more objectively at the photos Arctic posted of the relevant mechanism. What is enclosed in the black, banana-shaped element that dangles from the handle frame and receives, at the remote extremity, one end of the #19 rod? How is rotation of the key transferred to the latch, gears, eccentrics or, worse, a belt? Failure therein might be the culprit for my problem. Can anyone enlighten me, please?
