I am fresh registered here, but I've read the forum a lot before. Mostly about to find a solution for those really annoying "dashboard noises". Well, I can tell I've found the root of my one. I heard it from behind-under the passanger side dashboard at about 900-1100 and 1800-2000rpm. It gave me a really nostalgic golf Mk1 1.6D feeling... Nah thanks.
So. It worth to check out the computer unit behind the glow box. Unfortunately the glove box needs to be removed. There is a small box behind it, fixed with two screws. These screws are loose in the 90% of all the 75's in the universe. If you put some foam, or sponge between the box and the pipe (you'll see if you're there) and tighten the screws + add some thick self adhesive tape of the thin noisy bottom of the box you're gonna be as happy as I am now in my dream quiet interior of my 75.
