We are in Jersey at the moment and our car is in France.
The garage, the insurance company sent it to, "thought" it was the under bonnet pump. This turned out to be false when it broke down with the same symptoms 32km down the road. Yet another recovery. Now they "think" it is the in-tank pump. I have asked them to give me a price (should hear today 21st March) but balancing it on the price they charged for the under bonnet pump replacement, it will be extortionate. It seems to be a guessing game with the garage even though I advised them of things to look at and test.
So my next option is to have the car repatriated back to England and taken to my local Rover specialist.
I was based near Saint Hilaire de Harcouet in France, but left yesterday with a hire car which will need to be returned at some point. We were based in Pontivy for two weeks, that's when the car was working ok.
Anyway, I will wait for the phone call today and let you all know the outcome.
May have to let the Rover go, shame really as it has only 85000 miles on it and is in good condition.
