I had this fault as a comforting yellow MIL on my IPK for many years - resets and clears with T4/OBD but returned in a few miles -20 miles being the longest - 5/6 miles the shortest distance.

Swopped out the purge vale - no joy
Swopped out the hose to the charcoal cannister - no joy
Swopped out the charcoal cannister - no joy
Checked electrics to purge valve - no joy

Suggested other problems - a break in the vacuum system caused by a faulty fuel cap - swopped out fuel cap - no joy

A micro leak in the exhaust hose - again impairing the vacuum - never got round to checking this.

It was suggested it could have been an ECM fault - but i have remapped my car to 200bhp with a new KMAPS ECM with the programmed factory limiter software removed - no joy However the yellow light has gone out - but an OBD tool still shows the fault. For your MOT to avoid a fail i suggest prior to your test you use an OBD tool to clear the code - it should last long enough for you to pass the test.
