ah yes that was the engine management light led. no idea what they tried to do but had a really thin wire soldiered onto it, and melted the plastic surround in the process.
Have had a few now where either the ABS light or the airbag warning light was covered up without the current owner knowing about it. I always check for any covered up or non-working warning lights when taking any instrument clusters apart
