Odd thing is we have only seen it happen when it hits the 100c and the fan kicks in.
Its always run a 93c unless in standing traffic.
Now runs at around 88c the starts to rise and don't like coming down.

Water pump was done 2 year ago and seems to work ok
Been taken to a garage who are mg rover specialist who say its head gasket.

Then it's not the head gasket. Air will be seen in the water.

There is some kind of blockage in the system not allowing the water to circulate. Builds up in the header tank then overflows. Bottom of the rad or further into the cooling system is partially blocked.
