I know there was some problems with some of the earlier ones as I said a little lubrication in v cold period sorted mine out it would open then hesitate before going up more slowly than usual took 2-3 openings to return to normal. I know steve did huge amount of research in the strengh of springs required, so maybe you should try to contact him to see if he has any idea of why some are not working correctly
