Yes! So was my finger! I managed to keep the skin by taping it down with a plaster and bracing the finger with a lolly stick, as every time I bent the finger, the skin slipped. It took about two weeks before I could bend it safely.
All fine now with a "Smiley" scar to match my numberplate (true Rover 75 fanatic!).
