have you checked the plenum?
Under the bonnet of the near side just in front of the windscreen, there is a mesh, under this a plastic cover, under this the pollen filter and ECU both in the plenum.
To remove the plastic cover remove the first three plastic pegs that hold the plastic cover at the bottom of the windscreen, they pop out with the help of a small flat bladed screw driver.
At the bottom of the plenum near the off side side of the pollen filter is a drain, this can often get blocked and you get a build up of water
