Did you paint that mount black or was it that way when you started? As I recall mine was just bare metal. Could the mount you fitted the powerflex in to have been non standard, leading to it popping out in the way it did? Also the lateral grooves around the inside diameter don't seem the same, could they have been opened up a bit to make insertion easier? I seem to recall mine being more pronounced than in your pics.
