The unit is designed for the belt only to extract when the seat is upright. To prevent this in future, you need to remove the seat back trim cover and pull the seatbelt stop button through it, or add another seatbelt button, so when the seat is in the upright position the belt is a little slack. But it prevents the risk of retracting to the point of preventing the seat back from returning to the upright position.

If this does not make sense I can take a pic of mine showing how it should be modded

Note to any 'that will doo'ers, not aimed at anyone
AN APPROPRIATE HOLE PUCH IS REQUIRED, TRYING TO MAKE A LITTLE HOLE WITH A STANLEY KNIFE, WELL IT IS A SEAT BELT NOT A LUGGAGE STRAP

I did have pictures, but the 'Tourer rear seat strip down and re assembly' how to I was working on got shelved, then I had a clearout. if you need a pic or two I will take a couple

You can get the seatbelt stop buttons on eBay for next to nothing
