Now here’s a funny thing. Disconnected the battery last night as a safety measure – showing an electrical fault and leaving battery connected overnight could have been seen as well, stupid.

Reconnected this morning and fault gone!

So the recommendation is: Upon finding an electrical fault whilst at home, disconnect battery and leave in situ, go indoors for another congratulatory large glass of Shiraz, go to bed and to sleep whilst holding your wife’s, or any other that happens to be there, gentle and elegant hand.

When you wake and return to the vehicle all will be well with the world. Not sure if it was the wine or the hand that did the trick, but thanks for the replies!
