Been chasing exactly this on my cdti for a couple of years now.
Changed all the mounts and nothing has worked the vibration is still there just in a different position in the 1000- 2000 rpm range ( 50mph ish).
Now begining to think it's either the front pulley damper at 161000 miles, or my fav the is the intermediate shaft, which was a 2nd hand one changed about the time the vibes started.
Have noticed since the front arm bushes have been done the vibes have changed a bit too.
