Mines currently got an open cone filter in the engine bay on the end of a modified Mustang GT aluminium intake pipe at 86mm diameter. A recent rolling road power run showed that this was not the best to use. If the filter is a paper type element filter with metal trim (and end plate?), it will soak more heat than a foam type filter. They suggested a foam filter such as the HKS mushroom. I recently tried to fit a pipercross venom fully enclosed IC, but simply couldn't squeeze it in. I know at least one other 260 owner that managed this after removing the bumper to get to, and pull out, all the original ducting and air filter.

I am currently trying to source a HKS mushroom with a wide enough neck that would fit in the relatively small space I have to work with.
