very wise advice - probably the best advice so far on this thread. I used wire wool on mine when I first started, and produced a good few sparkes when I got too close to the connector. In the end, I taped up the connector to protect it whilst cleaning, but there are definitely safer ways of doing it as Stu suggests. I was lucky not to cause any damage.
