As Cliff (Teflon) advises focus on one area at a time and once completely finished the engine bay is a lot easier to keep clean.

Some tips for very quick results would be thr following:

Buy some stainless steel slam panel fixings to replace the originals.
Polish the air con pipes and engine mount with a Dremel Multi Tool and Autosol Metail Polish.
All the visible paintwork inside the engine bay I use a waterless wash apllied with a microfibre cloth followed by a coat of good quality car wax.
Plastic scuttle panel, battety box, etc I use a good quality plastic cleaner or even Wonder Wheels tyre gel also applied with a microfibre cloth.

Some things that might take a bit longer:

Engine Cover can be spray painted I used a glitter effect spray on my ZTT Engine Cover.
Battery Box lid can also be spray painted.
Fuse Box lid sides can also be spray painted and a stainless steel cover added.

Here are a some photos of the engine bay on my ZTT.
