I have just had the same problem. The difference between the 2 alternator options is the Amps they give out, I believe the 2 pin version provides a higher output but they both fit our diesels. Just in case yourself or your mechanic are unaware the alternator can be changed from below without removing the front end of car. There is a how to on here by Arctic.
