LOL It was a base for a company called 'Boyle's brothers' Lots of guys from all areas of the north east. We worked all over the country core drilling to locate the depth & thickness of the coal seams for what was then the NCB for future opencast sites.
I got dragged to a football match at the Everton ground verses Newcastle united as one of them never turned up for work on Monday morning so they gave me his ticket.
