Default Care when rodding

I have just examined my plenum and found the drain pipe had been pushed into the cavity between the chamber and the outside world. Although the cavity could be seen to be clean and dry I suspect that water could find its way into the car. I managed with some difficulty to get the pipe out and it was well blocked. I cleaned it out, chopped off about an inch, sprayed wax oil into the cavity and pushed the tube into its correct place. I shall have to seat the bottom flange when I can get under the car.
Question: Does the 15mm rod run the risk of dislodging this lower pipe?
Moral: Don't be too rough with the rod!
