Lots of reports of a boring race - presumably because of the relative lack of wheel to wheel action and not helped by submissive driving. All that tells me is the supremacy of one driver and his team - nobody to compete with in the traditional sense. Hamilton finished as much as 18 seconds ahead of his team mate in a similar car!
I reckon it is approaching the state it was in before the American ownership. Muffled accusations of 'a procession' were abundant. The problem is the top level being concerned only with profit margins. The huge fees they get from TV and venues and the like takes away the impetus for excellence.
In their planning meetings at that level they have never ever included drivers or had their superior input over and above margins. They should let the drivers have influence over the rules. The directors are money men from start to finish. Still, glad to see LH increasing his margins!
