Well if you check your existing key you will see it has transponder chip inside its essential or you wont be able to start car without chip interfacing with immobiliser, I have passed your post onto someone who maybe able to help, the current price for a key in the club is £70 I believe or £240 from BMW provided your ECU hasnt been changed.
