It might but glass is rather different - significantly harder. You'll probably get some improvement but you may need a Cerium Oxide polish - something like this:

Plus the pad needs to be kept damp and cleaned regularly and it's a time consuming job.
Maybe just give it a go and see what results come along? I don't think you've anything to lose and it might be enough to get close enough to how you want it.
