Had my cholesterol checked many years ago and it was sky high (12+). Already did loads of exercise (half marathons, gym 6 days a week etc), so made diet changes as recommended by my GP. Sadly, it made very little difference
My GP prescribed 40 mg Statins, and my cholesterol level dropped dramatically. Been taking them for over 20 yrs now, and so far, no side effects whatsoever. I guess it's the luck of the draw - for some they're a God send, for others, a nightmare
