Think of that t-bolt clamp as a stronger jubilee clip, perfect for hoses like silicon induction pipework but unsuitable for exhausts in my opinion. The generic exhaust clamps are better suited and cheaper.
Don't forget an aftermarket system will slide over an existing section, your not looking to join two pipes with the same outside diameter (generally speaking)
