Just gave the plenum a check and it's dry as a bone in there really. There's quite a lot of mouldy leaves which were damp and could hold moisture right by the ECU, so that could have caused the problem, but there was no water in there.

Hopefully this has solved the issue, but any more clues on what it could be if not that?
