First of all well done for driving the car home and giving yourself time to reflect.
My observations:
- I don't remember you reporting white smoke from the exhaust.
- It appears that the garage did not carry out any of the usual tests for HGF to reach their diagnosis.
- You posted that there wasn't any mayo on the dipstick but the garage says there is.
- A head "could have warped" is not good enough.
- It's not the garage's place to tell you to scrap your car.
