Bearing in mind the BHP loss on RR (dyno's) is variable and adjustable by the operator, they are almost certainly "loaded" in the owners favour, nothing like keeping the customers happy innit...

I believe the remaps available on the diesels also effect the auto gearbox where fitted, it certainly altered mine.

The limited power-rev range is also a myth, plant your foot at 100 mph (in top gear) in a remapped diesel and it will take off again..

. My car starts to struggle at about 4,200 rpm.. But in top that's about 125 mph and entering the red zone.. At that point the V6's will outrun a diesel....
