iive had these fitted now for about a year and a half
The fix is adding a washer to the bottom thread on each side
Mine worked for a month or so then packed up, so i added the washer to the bottom, it acts as a spacer and just gives it a little more grunt to push it up and its worked like a charm now ever since
However im not going to lie, it does put a lot of pressure on the boot hinges and you do need a hell of a push to get it back down, but this does subside overtime

i have read where members have had issues with their boots leaking water in through the hinge bolts, ive not had this problem, but im sure that is no more difficult to fix than removing the bolts and adding a little sealant to them, then re-tightening them
