Well that's a begger! Noticed the majority of my onions that I planted last October have bolted & sent up a scape with a seed head
It's like someone flicked a switch overnight
There are two different varieties a Japanese Senshyu & a Snowball variety. They've been growing happily over Winter but I think the really cold Spring weather & now this heatwave have scuppered them. I'm pulling them up otherwise they'll have a woody core
They'll make good salad onions as they nice & crunchy
