Keypads are made waterproof against coffee spills so that gives a good way to clean them. At least once in the past, I've removed the case screws or whatever holds it in place, so the keyboard can be lifted from the silicone contacts membrane. Most keypads have captured keys, so they won't drop out if you invert or shake it. Best check befor proceeding! A squirt of Fairly Liquid and a warm scrub with a toothbrush will return it to showroom condition. The slops and detritus that collects under the keys on the membrane can be brushed off completely and wiped with a damp tissue, etc..
