Hello Keith and to the club.

Coolant leaks in the 'V' are very common with the KV6. As Pab says, the thermostat housing may be the culprit, but on my car it was the curved pipe in the same area. Many people buy a kit to renew all three plastic components (thermostat & housing, curved pipe, straight pipe) which have seals which aren't very durable. The kit is inexpensive.

When refilling the coolant on the KV6 the expansion tank should be raised as high as possible. If you search for my post with MG Rover's refilling procedure, and follow it, you'll have no problems.
