OK, in the underbonnet fusebox locate "link 3". This is rated at 50 amps so is effectively not much of a fuse at all! Don't attempt to remove it (it's constantly live with battery voltage), just place your voltmeter on it.

Do you see +12v on both sides?

Hi Simon. I've just had a look and thing my earth is OK as I'm getting 12v from some of the fuses under the dash. I checked link 3 and yes I'm getting 12v either side of that, and the other links in the fuse box under the bonnet. Cheers, Dan.
