That doesn't sound right at all. According to your earlier post you bought a genuine MGR 2 speed system complete with control box for petrol engines. We're going to have to examine the loom connectors I'm afraid. You might be able to access these without removing the front bumper.

Yep, link to the supplier above. The resistor was swapped for a new one Simon and that didn't fix it. I think it's a wiring issue somewhere, possibly a worn or corroded connection. I've left it with the people who fitted the new fan for me. They did it at the same time I had the belts changed back in January. I'd been running without a fan for a few weeks before that.
