OK, this is how I messed up.
I opened up my car using my key FOB, unlocked the bonnet, removed the battery cover, checked batt charge level and decided to give the batt an overnight charge.
Disconnected the poss terminal from the batt and connected the charger for a 24 hr plus low rate charge leaving the battery in situ.
Half closed the bonnet on the charger, covered the car over with the car cover and plugged in to my outside power source.
Next day lifted the half closed bonnet, shut off elec power supply and removed the charger. As soon as I reconnected the + terminal to the battery
The horn blew the fear of God out of me.
Then it stopped.
Referred to the handbook. _
and read "disarm the alarm before removing the battery".
Still not sure why I got a blast off the horn.
P.S. should I have disconnected the neg terminal too.
Kev.
