You don't necessarily have to remove the doors for a colour change but there is a lot of time involved removing and replacing weatherstrip, door cards and fittings and cleaning out all of the nooks and crannies in the door jambs then masking the openings. If you were to do most of the labour that would save a lot of expense.

Rich, I was thinking of leaving the insides in white gold but just getting a professional respray on the outside. I love that creamy old English white. I think that would look good. What do you think?
