My car is in fact a Platinum Gold colour and the description you provide Reebs is exactly what I have. So it must be one of the SVP cars. Thank you for all the info - it makes sense now. I had been wondering if I had bought a home-modified vehicle would all the conversations with insurers that would entail.
First job was to investigate the pollen filter chamber and sure enough it was blocked solid. Once flowing free I was amazed at the amount of water that was held in there.
Hopefully couple of pictures will appear below that show the water (in case anyone hasn't seen this for themselves) and the comparison of old and new pollen filters
